Each assignment we undertake as a unique opportunity to interpret a design and at the same time be true to the spirit of that design. We are comfortable working with or without a client on site. Our goal is to achieve a level of trust with our clients whereby they feel comfortable sending us out to photograph. Prior discussions, scouting the site, and reviewing site plans are part of this process. It is also sometimes necessary to coordinate an assignment with adjacent property owners to get permission to use a building because of its vantage point to the building being photographed.

We work with a variety of camera formats depending on the nature of a project. Our typical cameras of choice are 4x5 and 120 formats. All film is hand processed to archival standards and a set of negatives along with a positive proof is filed for every assignment. Our work can be delivered as hand made silver prints or as digital files. Every project and every client is unique and therefore we will deliver finished work in a variety of ways. The new digital printers are capable of high quality archival results. For mural size work and work on special art papers this approach may be desirable.

The digital revolution has brought many changes to the workplace of photographers and a fair question arises when we are asked about retouching our images. As Dylan wrote "the times they are a changing" and keeping up with change is part of a good artist's repertoire. It is a characteristic of the built environment that there are times when objects and unwanted structures interfere with the expression of the architecture. When we cannot successfully work around obstacles to achieve a clear statement we will utilize digital technology to retouch an image.
